Fundraising

As a Group we have some key annual fundraising activities. In 2015/16 we are also very lucky to be taking part in a fundraising partnership with Midcounties Cooperative. Through this, we have held raised money through bag packing at the local stores, benefited from money raised through the 5p carrier bag charge and received donations of groceries for events. Gift Aid
Gift Aid is very important to the Group. We are able to claim Gift Aid on all subs payments made by UK taxpayers. If your child is a member of the Group and you haven't yet filled in a Gift Aid form please do so here.

Christmas Post
The Christmas Post starts in October or November with the delivery of leaflets advertising the post and ScoutRail, along with leaflets from local businesses.

The next stage is getting the post boxes out to the shops, usually during the last week in November. During the first three weeks of December we collect the cards from the shops and sort them into 60 delivery rounds. In the second and third weeks of December the cards are delivered to 60 Scouts for delivery around the village.

Each sort ideally needs a minimum of 20 people and each year we deliver up to 10,000 cards.

Kidlington Scout Rail
The ScoutRail model railway exhibition takes place every January at Exeter Hall in Kidlington.

This popular two-day event has been running for more than 30 years and offers a great day out for model rail enthusiasts or anyone keen to see the models, with a number of layouts and trade stands as well as great refreshments.

For more information visit the ScoutRail website.

Sain
sbury's Bag Packing
Each year in December you will see us at the Sainsbury's in Kidlington raising money for the Group. Everyone gets involved from Beavers through to Leaders as we pack shopping in return for a donation.
